to lead nationally-ranked No. 8 Hampden-Sydney College to a 105-92 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball road win at Randolph College on Wednesday night in Lynchburg. Freshman guard
Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) added 15 points and All-American fifth-year guard and third-year team captain
Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) had 14 points as the visiting Tigers had seven players in double-figure scoring. The high-scoring contest was tied at 49-49 at halftime, and the host WildCats led 81-80 with 8:41 remaining, but the Garnet & Grey closed the contest on a 25-11 run for a season-high 105 points and their fourth consecutive victory. H-SC improved to 14-3 overall, 7-1 in the ODAC. Randolph dropped to 5-11 overall, 1-8 in the ODAC, and was led by Jordan Phillip-McLoyd with 19 points and Viktor Parson with 16 points.

H-SC, ranked No. 8 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25, fell behind early as Randolph led 13-6 at 15:09 behind a trio of three-point field goals, the first two by Evan Wiehe. A quick 8-0 had the Tigers ahead 14-13 with 13:45 on the clock as senior guard
Ayman McGowan (Memphis, TN) connected on a pair of three-pointers of his own around a basket down low by Fernald. Three more three-pointers, two from Parson, helped the WildCats to a 13-0 run to lead 26-14 at 11:55, but the Garnet & Grey responded with seven unanswered points to get within 26-21 with 10:27 left in the half as Stickney scored four of the points. Randolph led 33-25 at 7:41 after another three-pointer by Parson, but the Garnet & Grey battled back and outscored their hosts 24-16 over the final 7:20 to tie the contest at 49-49 at halftime. Colin Radcliffe (Richlands, NC) added seven points, including two three-pointers. Randolph was 10-22 from three-point territory in the first half.
H-SC led 57-53 early in the second half at 18:01 after consecutive three-pointers from senior guard
Nick Shryock (Davidson, NC) followed by an offensive rebound basket by Fernald. Randolph ran off 12 unanswered points, aided by two more three-pointers, to lead 65-57 with 15:27 remaining, but six-straight points inside by freshman forward
John Campbell (High Point, NC) had the Tigers within 65-63 at 13:38. A jumper from Phillips-McLoyd gave the WildCats a 75-68 advantage at 11:56, and the lead was 79-74 at 10:14 after yet another three-pointer. Campbell made two free throws with 8:57 left to cap a quick 6-0 run for an 80-79 lead, but two free throws for the home team made it an 81-80 deficit at 8:41. The Garnet & Grey used a 15-1 run to lead 95-82 with just 1:35 left to play, and closed the game on the 25-11 run toward the final margin of victory. Stickney scored nine late points, including a three-pointer and 2-2 free throws, while Brazil added 6-6 late free throws—the visitors were 10-10 at the line over the final 1:35 while securing the outcome.
Fernald led the seven double-figure scorers for H-SC with his career-high and game-high 22 points (10-14 FGs, 2-3 FTs) off the bench, adding his game-high nine rebounds. Stickney finished with his 15 points for the Tigers, making 6-6 free throws, while Brazil had his 14 points, making 8-8 free throws, adding five rebounds and a season-high and game-high four steals. Shryock, Campbell and McGowan—off the bench—each scored 13 points, with Shryock adding five rebounds, Campbell adding six rebounds and McGowan making 3-7 three-pointers. Radcliffe contributed 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. H-SC shot 50% (34-68) from the field, including 33% (8-24) on three-pointers, and 74% (29-39) at the free throw line. The Tigers enjoyed a 52-30 advantage in points scored in the paint, and a 21-4 advantage in second chance points with 15 offensive rebounds, and out-rebounds the hosts 43-25.
Phillips-McLoyd led Randolph with his 19 points, adding five rebounds and three steals. Parson finished with his 16 points off the bench for the WildCats, making 3-7 three-pointers, while Elijah Cox and Timothy James Jr. each had 11 points off the bench. Randolph shot 52% (34-65) from the field, including 42% (14-33) on three-pointers, and 67% (10-15) at the line.
