GREENSBORO, NC -- Freshman Thomas Davis (Charlotte, NC) won both a singles and doubles match, but Hampden-Sydney College fell on the road in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action to Guilford (NC) College, Saturday afternoon at the Dorothy Ragsdale McMichael '37 Centennial Class Courts.

The Tigers took a doubles victory in the second doubles match, as junior Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach) and his partner Davis won 8-6. Sophomores Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon) and Casey Coffey (Midlothian) fell 8-3 in the top doubles match. In the final doubles match, junior Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) and sophomore Tanner Allison (Midlothian) were defeated 8-4.

McReynolds took victory in the second singles match, taking the first set 6-3, before cruising to a 6-0 set two sweep. Junior Henry Singleton (Richmond) took a second singles win for the Tigers in the third slot, taking a commanding 6-0 win in set one, before following it up with a 6-2 win in set two. Davis took his singles win in the fourth slot, winning the first set 6-2 and the second set 6-4. Fox fell in the top singles match, dropping the first set 6-1, and dropping set two 6-0. Sophomore John Glassner (Charlotte, NC) got the match in the fifth singles slot, falling in the first set 6-1, before dropping the second set 6-0. In the final singles match, Allison dropped both set one and two 6-1.

The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, April 3, when they play host to Randolph College in ODAC action. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 at the H-SC Tennis Courts.
