HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College grabbed a 9-0 win over Mary Baldwin University in non-conference action, Saturday afternoon at the H-SC Tennis Courts.
The Tigers grabbed wins in both the third doubles slot and sixth singles slot by default. Those wins went to junior
Nick Beaudoin (Norfolk) in singles and Beaudoin and junior
Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) in doubles.
In doubles action, junior
Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach) and partner freshman
Thomas Davis (Charlotte, NC) took an 8-1 win in the top slot. In the final doubles match, sophomores
Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon) and
Casey Coffey (Midlothian) took an 8-0 win.
Foster took a commanding win in top singles action, grabbing a 6-1, 6-0 win. Junior
Henry Singleton (Richmond), junior
Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach), and sophomore
John Glassner (Charlotte, NC) each earned two set sweeps over their opponents, 6-0, 6-0. In the final singles match, freshman
Ben May (Amherst) grabbed a 6-0, 6-1 win to close out the match.
The Tigers will be back in action to take on Pfeiffer (NC) University on Wednesday, February 28. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the H-SC Tennis Courts.
