LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College fell 5-0 to 24th-ranked the University of Lynchburg in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Soccer Semifinals, Wednesday night at Shellenberger Field.
The Hornets jumped out to a lead early in the first half, scoring within the first three minutes. Lynchburg scored twice more in the half and the Tigers could not find a goal to draw one back and trailed 3-0 going into halftime.
Lynchburg kept it going in the second half, scoring twice to push its lead to five. The Tigers were able to put more pressure on the Lynchburg defense, but were unable to find the breakthrough goal they needed and fell 5-0.
Lynchburg had the edge in both shots with 17 and shots on target with nine, compared to six shots and three on target for H-SC.

H-SC has completed the 2024 campaign a 9-6-3 record this season and a 6-2-2 ODAC record under the direction of eighth-year head coach
Tommy DiNuzzo. The Tigers could return as many as 27 lettermen for next year.
