Connor Erlenbach (Midlothian) picked up the ball at midfield and took it all the way to the net before finishing inside the right post. Roanoke answered, getting one back with 4:27 left in the quarter, but H-SC had another answer, as 36 seconds later and a man-down O'Brien saw his opportunity as a second defender crept towards him for the double-team, he spun away and went around the goal finding lots of space for the shot and goal. Leone secured his hat trick in the first quarter with a quick-fire double in 34 seconds. The Maroons fought back, getting the next two goals to cut the lead to six, as Hanes made a cross-field pass to Leone at the far post for the answer. Roanoke responded, scoring another pair of goals and cutting the lead down to five with just under 10 minutes remaining in the quarter. Saunders ended the run with a man-up goal with 7:43 remaining, as he got the pass from Thompson up top and fired a low side-arm shot past the goalie. Hope then got his first of the afternoon, as he got the pass in mid-air from O'Brien and quickly fired down and beat the goalie before hitting the ground. Duffy took advantage of some confusion for the Maroons just over a minute later, taking a shot from just past midfield into an empty net for an easy goal. Hanes got himself into the goal column with just under three minutes remaining in the quarter, taking the ball from behind the net to the right side of the crease, catching the defense and goalie by surprise, and taking a quick shot from an acute angle to push the lead to nine. The Tigers closed out the scoring in the quarter with a fifth unanswered goal, as Hope picked up the ground ball from a wide shot by Leone and found O'Brien wide open on the right side of the field for the goal, pushing the lead to 16-6 at halftime.
Saunders opened the scoring in the third quarter for the Tigers' sixth unanswered goal, as he passed the ball to Thompson before getting it back and making a head fake to the right to move the defender to fire a shot from up top to push the lead to 11. The Maroons answered and clawed their way back into the game, as they scored the next three goals in the quarter to cut the H-SC lead to 17-9 with only 15 minutes remaining.
Hanes opened the scoring in the fourth quarter and end the three-goal Roanoke run as he battled through two defenders to get off a right-handed shot to beat the goalie over his right shoulder. The Maroons answered again to keep the lead at eight before Thompson found Hope in the middle of the field and he fired a shot past two defenders for the goal. O'Brien pushed the lead back to double-digits 43 seconds later, getting his defender on his right shoulder before spinning back left and finishing past the goalie as he was falling over. Roanoke answered one more time, scoring four minutes later, but that would be the end of the scoring as H-SC took a 20-11 win to stay unbeaten in ODAC play.
