HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College grabbed all but one victory in both singles and doubles action to open up Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play with a home opening win over Randolph-Macon College, 7-2, Thursday afternoon at the H-SC Tennis Courts.

Sophomore Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach) and his partner, freshman Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon) opened the contest with a commanding 8-3 victory in the top doubles slot. Finishing shortly after with the second doubles win was the freshman duo of Casey Coffey (Midlothian) and Tanner Allison (Midlothian), taking their set by winning the tiebreaker to finish 8(7)-7(3). The final doubles match that involved sophomores Henry Singleton (Richmond) and Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach) also found its way to tiebreakers, with the duo losing the tiebreaker to fall 8(7)-7(3), to close out doubles action in favor of H-SC 2-1.

Singleton and Casey made quick work of their matches in singles action, with Singleton winning 6-0, 6-1, and Casey following suit with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 score line. Foster took care of his match in the one singles spot, taking the match 6-2, 6-4. In the final singles slot, Allison played well to earn the victory, winning by a 6-1, 6-3 score line. Fox took care of his opponent in singles action 6-2, 6-4, before McReynolds was pushed into a third set tiebreaker by his opponent, falling in the tiebreaker 6-2, 4-6, 5-10.

The Tigers will be back in action for the first ODAC match-up with Averett University. The match is on the road at 1 p.m. at the Averett Tennis Courts.
