Ford Burke (Richmond) each scored four goals to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a 16-11 victory over Catholic (DC) University, Saturday afternoon on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium. Fifth-year goalie

Gaines Weis (Richmond) scored two goals and junior
Michael Leone (Vienna) scored two goals and added two assists.
The Tigers and O'Brien got off to a flying start in the first quarter, with the junior putting home the first two goals of the game less than a minute apart from each other. The Cardinals answered back before senior
Kevin Marshall (Mt. Pleasant, SC) beat the goalie 36 seconds later. O'Brien closed out his hat trick in the first quarter scoring with just over a minute to go in the first quarter to give H-SC a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes.
Burke opened the scoring in the second quarter, giving the Tigers a three-goal run between the first and second quarter, beating the goalie off the assist from senior
Nick Thompson (Midlothian). Catholic got one back before, Thompson took advantage of the man-up situation and finished off the Burke feed. H-SC pushed its lead to six following a two-goal spurt, with the first coming from junior
Patrick Saunders (Alexandria) and the second coming in transition as Burke found Weis in front of the net for the goal. Catholic answered scoring three straight before O'Brien got his four of the half in transition off the pass from senior
Jack Limon (Newberry, FL) to bring it to halftime with H-SC leading 9-5.
The Tigers opened the third quarter with three goals in three minutes of play. Burke found the back of the net twice within a minute, first scoring off the pass from junior
Drew Duffy (Virginia Beach) and second off the pass from O'Brien. Freshman
Davis Mack (Richmond) scored the third goal for the run off the second straight assist from O'Brien. The Cardinals and Tigers traded the next four goals, with Catholic scoring first before Burke answered in less than a minute off an O'Brien feed. Catholic got one back before Weis answered off the pass from Leone in transition to give H-SC a 14-7 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Catholic opened the scoring in the fourth quarter, getting a goal less than 30 seconds into play on the man-up advantage. The Tigers answered as Leone found the back of the net following the pass to set him up from Thompson. The Cardinals answered with a three-goal run in the middle of the fourth quarter, before Leone scored in an open net to close out the scoring and give H-SC a 16-11 victory.
The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, March 15 at home against non-conference opponent Ohio Northern University. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.
