DANVILLE, KY – Sophomores Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach) and Henry Singleton (Richmond) won a singles match, as Hampden-Sydney College fell 7-2 to Centre College at the Centre Tennis Courts.

In doubles action, Foster and his partner freshman Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon) fell in a nail-biter 8-7. In other doubles action freshman, Casey Coffey (Midlothian) and sophomore Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) along with Singleton and sophomore John Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) fell by a score line of 8-2.

Foster took the first of two victories in singles action winning by a 7-6, 6-1 score line. The second point came from the 6-3, 6-3 victory by Singleton in the fifth singles match. McReynolds pushed his match to three sets before being defeated 6-1, 3-6, 0-1. Matt Kendrick fell 6-1, 6-0 and sophomore Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach) dropped his match in two sets 6-4, 6-3. In the final singles match, senior Patrick Conde (Virginia Beach) fell 6-1, 6-3.

The Tigers will be back in action when they travel down to Orlando, Florida for spring break, facing off with Carnegie Mellon University and Otterbein University on March, 5. The times of those matches will be determined closer to the date of the competition.
