VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – While it was a "sort of homecoming" for a number of Hampden-Sydney Tennis student-athletes, once they stepped on the court in Virginia Beach, it was another opportunity to get their fourth ODAC win of the season against a talented Virginia Wesleyan team.Â
To begin the day, Freshmen
Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach, VA) andÂ
MattÂ
Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) teamed up again for the second time in a row in No. 1 Doubles, but would fall by a score of 8-3, while Freshmen
 Henry Singleton (Richmond, VA) and
Frank Borden (Durham, NC) fell by the same score in No. 3 doubles . However, Senior
Tyler Brice (Rocky Mount, NC) and Freshman
John Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) would pick up the win in No. 2 doubles, 8-5, to finish out the first session trailing 2-1.
In the singles session, the Tigers were unable to seize the momentum and would be swept by the Marlins, 6-0. In No. 1 Singles, Foster fell in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 and Brice dropped his No. 2 match, 6-3, 6-4. Bordon was unable to find his rhythm at No. 3 Singles, falling 6-0, 6-0 and Singleton pushed his opponent in the No. 4 Match but fell in two sets, 6-2, 7-5. M. Kendrick went three sets but couldn't pick up the victory, 6-3, 3-6, 2-6, while in the final match of the session, J. Kendrick got behind early to his opponent and eventually fell in two sets, 6-0, 6-1.
