ORLANDO, FL. – The Hampden-Sydney Tennis team (1-2) began their week in Florida with a solid 7-2 win over Saint Francis (IL) Sunday afternoon, giving the Tigers their first victory of the Spring season. Fr.
Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach, VA) earned 2 points by, first, teaming with fellow Freshman,
Henry Singleton,
(Richmond, VA) to win their No. 3 doubles match, 8-4 and then by winning his No. 3 singles match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Fr.
Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) also picked up 2 points for H-SC, winning the No. 2 doubles with Fr.
Frank Borden (Durham, NC) by a final score of 8-7 and then pulling out the victory in the No. 6 singles match, 7-5, 6-0.
The Fighting Saints were able to gain 2 points by winning in the No. 1 doubles and No. 4 singles, but Sr.
Tyler Brice (Rocky Mount, NC), Fr.
Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach, VA), and Singleton each picked up additional points to round out the day, giving the Tigers their 7 points.
