HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The Hampden-Sydney College Tennis team welcomed Centre (KY) College to the H-SC Tennis Courts Sunday for an afternoon matchup. This was the third match in five days for the Tigers and the last one before a twelve day competitive break. They faced The Colonels, who were beginning a long road trip through the Mid-Atlantic, but would drop the match by a final score of 7-2.
Similar to Friday's match, Hampden-Sydney fell behind early in doubles as FreshmanÂ
Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach, VA) and SeniorÂ
Tyler Brice (Rocky Mount, NC) dropped another close match, 8-6.  Freshmen
 Frank Borden (Durham, NC) andÂ
Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) fell by a score of 8-1, in No. 2 doubles, while FreshmanÂ
Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach, VA) and FreshmanÂ
Henry Singleton (Richmond, VA) pushed their opponents but ultimately fell, 8-6.
The Tigers looked to rally in singles, and Foster got things started by winning his match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Brice followed that up with a win in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 7-6 to pull Hampden-Sydney to within one point, however Borden came up short in his match, 6-0, 6-2, as did Singleton in the No. 5 match, 6-3, 6-2. In the final match of the day, Kendrick was unable to grab the point, dropping No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-3.Â
The Tigers finished their stretch of three matches in five days with a record of 1-2. They will have twelve days to refocus before they get into the heart of their ODAC schedule. Hampden-Sydney will begin that stretch on Saturday April 2, when they travel to Washington and Lee for a 2:00pm match. Stay tuned to
