Tyler Brice (Rocky Mount, NC) and freshmanÂ
Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach) won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles for the host Tigers (0-2), before Foster also earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, and Brice won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 singles. Freshman
Henry Singleton (Richmond) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles, as well.
Pfeiffer (4-1) took the other two doubles matches, along with the other three singles matches for the team win. Freshmen
Frank Borden (Durham, NC) and
Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) fell 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, while Singleton and freshman
Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach) fell 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
In addition to the singles wins by Foster, Brice and Singleton … Borden fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3,
Matt Kendrick fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4, and Fox fell 7-6, 6-3 at No. 5.
H-SC will play again March 6-10 with six matches in Orlando, Florida during the program's annual Spring Break Trip. The Tigers will open the trip against the University of St. Francis (IL) on Sunday, March 6, at 3 p.m. in Orlando.
