BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Hampden-Sydney College tennis team picked up wins at number three doubles and number six singles, but fell to Bridgewater College on Tuesday afternoon, 7-2. The Tigers fall to 1-8 overall and 0-7 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
Sophomore
Patrick Conde/Virginia Beach and freshman
David Hudson/Roanoke got the Tigers on the scoreboard in doubles with an 8-5 win over Leyton Pullin and Bryce Cline. The Eagles picked up an 8-4 and 8-0 win at number one and two doubles, respectively.
In singles, Conde won in straight sets at number six, 6-1, 6-2 over Cline. Senior
Andrew Donelson/McLean won his opening set 6-1 over Matthew Gordon but fell in a match tiebreak 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7).
The Tigers return home for a match against Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, April 16. First serve against the Marlins is scheduled for 3 p.m. from the Tiger Tennis Courts.
