HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Tigers got off to an impressive start, scoring the first nine points and holding the Yellow Jackets scoreless until the 13:42 mark
  • R-MC gradually chipped away at the lead, eventually tying it at 17-17 at 6:36 and taking a two-point lead at 5:45
  • The game continued to be played within a one-possession score the rest of the half, and Jake Duncan's three pointer shortly before the end of the half gave H-SC a 28-26 lead
  • H-SC pushed their lead out to five, 35-30, following a Jack Costigan three pointer at 14:39
  • Randolph-Macon kept the score within six points the rest of the half, and the Tigers led 47-42 at 3:13
  • A pair of Tiger turnovers on their next two possessions resulted in a Jamie Wilson three pointers and a Jermaine Johnson layup at 1:32 to tie the game.
  • The Tigers were unable to score on their next possession, and Daniel Noe converted a midrange baseline jumper with 42 seconds left to give R-MC the lead
  • H-SC then stepped on the endline to turn over the ball with 22 seconds to play, and the Tigers were forced to foul after failing to get a quick steal. However, Jamie Wilson missed the first shot in the bonus and H-SC secured the rebound
  • H-SC managed to fire up a three pointer with seven seconds left and missed. Randolph-Macon got the board and was fouled but missed both free throw attempts
