Daniel Eacho is in his fifth year as an assistant basketball coach at Hampden-Sydney College during 2021-22, rejoining the program during 2018-19. He had served as a volunteer assistant coach during 2016-17, before spending the 2017-18 season as a graduate assistant coach at Salisbury (MD) University.
Eacho completed his Master of Business Administration degree from Salisbury in May 2019. While at Salisbury, he helped coached the team to an 18-9 season, advancing to the semifinals of the CAC tournament, which included an 83-75 road win at #7 York College. Eacho worked hard as the recruiting coordinator to help secure a strong recruiting class for the Sea Gulls and was in charge of all scouting and film work.
At H-SC, he helped guide the Tigers to the 2017 ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals with highlight wins over Randolph-Macon (63-56), Virginia Wesleyan (76-69), and at Guilford (64-58).
Prior to his first stint at H-SC, he served as an Auditor for the Auditor of Public Accounts in Richmond and was also a varsity assistant coach for the Monacan High School basketball team that won the 2015-16 Virginia Group 4A State Championship. Eacho also has extensive experience coaching at camps for HoopGroup, Cornell, Holy Cross, Hampden-Sydney, Washington and Lee, Christopher Newport, the University of Virginia, Roanoke College, and Dell Curry.
Eacho graduated from Roanoke College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and history. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Alpha Lambda Delta. A two-time All-ODAC honoree, ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team, Eacho totaled 1,311 career points while shooting 47% from the floor with a career-high 18.8 points as a junior. Additionally, he shot at least 49% in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Eacho posted a career average of 7.0 rebounds a game, reeling in 9.6 per contest as a junior and 8.5 as a sophomore.
