Tray Scott is in his first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Hampden-Sydney College during 2026-27. He has primary sport responsibility for football and tennis. Tray has owned and operated The Fit Academy in Farmville since 2021.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from George Mason University in 2021. While at GMU, he completed practicum experiences in athletic training at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Alexandria (Spring 2020) and at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. (Spring 2021). Scott supported secondary school student-athletes and athletic training room operations at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes, while focused on clinical experiences with football, lacrosse and baseball at CU. He served as an athletic trainer for Potomac Health Care Solutions during 2021-22, working with club sports at Longwood University, providing injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation and return-to-participation support.
A native of Farmville, Tray has additional experience as a health and physical education teacher at Prince Edward County High School (2022-24), and as a fitness attendant, personal trainer and camp counselor. Scott is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and licensed in the state of Virginia, while also a Certified Instructor in CPR/AED/First Aid by the American Heart Association (AHA) and an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer and Functional Training Specialist.
