Stephen Kemp is in his fifth year as the assistant director of athletic communications at Hampden-Sydney College during 2026-27. He previously served as the Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications and Interim Director for Athletic Communications at Lasell (MA) University from 2021-22. Stephen assists with oversight of all athletics communications for the Tigers, including the promotion of team, student-athlete and coaching achievements, maintenance of the department website, gameday operations and statistics, video livestreaming while serving as the College's main production contact with FloSports, and social media platforms for H-SC Athletics. He most recently served on the official statistics crew at the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship Weekend at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. His specific sport responsibilities include lacrosse, soccer, squash, swimming and tennis.
At Lasell, Kemp served as the contact for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's volleyball, and baseball. He also spent time as the Interim Athletic Communications Director during the winter of 2021 and spring of 2022. He was the primary video producer for the Lasers and had a large hand in written content, statistics, as well as managing the Lasers athletic website. At Lasell, he earned his Masters of Science in sport management with a concentration in athletic administration.
Kemp worked as an Athletic Assistant at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, NY in 2018-19. While working for the Marauders, he was the main statistician for football and assisted with the running of volleyball and basketball home events. He also had a hand in live streaming events and running the in-game production during basketball games.
A native of Rochester, New York, Kemp graduated in 2019 from Medaille (NY) University with a Bachelor's of Science in sport management. He was a three-year member of the baseball team with the Mavericks. He was a Third-Team All-AMCC selection in 2019 and ranks in the top 20 in Medaille history in batting average, on-base percentage and runs scored.
