Rick Godsey '85 is in his second year as an assistant tennis coach at Hampden-Sydney College during 2025-26. He previously served as an assistant varsity boy's coach at the Collegiate School in Richmond.
During his time at the Collegiate School, Godsey helped improve the program, ending his final season in 2024 with a Prep League Championship and a second-place finish in the state.
Prior to the Collegiate School, Godsey spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond from 2016-2018.
In addition to his coaching career, Godsey has supported the United States Tennis Association (USTA) by captaining teams over the last 20 years. He has also captained Westwood's 4.5 and 5.0 Club Challenge teams.
Outside of tennis, Godsey owns a direct marketing company, YesDogDirect.
Rick is a 1985 graduate of Hampden-Sydney, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. While at H-SC, he was a member of the tennis team, playing in the top doubles and #2 singles during his junior and senior years.
