Hampden-Sydney Basketball has won 75.1 percent of its games played (447 of 595) in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House since it opened in 1979. The Tigers have posted 39 winning seasons in 45 years, with 40 seasons at .500 or above. H-SC enjoyed 29 consecutive winning seasons at home from 1988-2017. Fleet Gym is one of the most feared destinations in Division III with fantastic support from the College fan base of students, faculty and staff, as well as outstanding support from the local community.

H-SC finished 16-1 at home during 2023-24, the most home games since 1998-99 (18), and the second-most all-time (19). The Tigers were 8-2 at home during 2022-23, its fewest home games since 1987-88, also equaling the fewest ever (10).

The longest winning streak in Fleet Gym is 32 consecutive games won spanning four seasons, beginning with a 90-79 win over North Carolina Wesleyan in the 2002 NCAA Tournament, running through the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons, and into 2004-05.
    
H-SC has posted 24 10-win seasons at home, including five 15-win seasons in Fleet Gym.

In 2011-12, the Tigers posted their largest margin of victory with a 140-40 win past Patrick Henry Community College.

H-SC’s home contest with archrival Randolph-Macon, played on February 14, 2004, established a single-game attendance record with 2,214 fans in attendance. The current seating configuration’s capacity is 1,200. Attendance for this year’s home game with RMC was 1,492 (sold-out) on Feb. 3.

The Tigers have hosted 22 NCAA Tournament games since 1992, compiling an impressive record of 17-5 (.773).

In the past decade, Fleet Gym has witnessed the addition of a new floor and new bleachers, including a home section with seat backs, a new sound system, new banners for all of the ODAC schools, a film room; and renovations to the locker room.
