ASHLAND, Va. – The Hampden-Sydney College swim team fell, 115-76, on the road to Randolph-Macon in The Meet on Friday evening at the Brock Center Pool. The Tigers move to 4-2 on the season in duels while the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-1.
H-SC picked up their first win in the 200 Yard Free when junior Zach Stephan/Hampton finished in a time of 1:52.14. Sophomore Woody Parsons/Virginia Beach was just 0:00.04 behind Stephan to finish second in the event.
In the 50 Yard Free senior Brandon Koch/Spotsylvania finished second in a time of 0:23.93 with sophomore Jason Covaney/Williamsburg came in fourth in the event in a time of 0:24.34. Junior Anthony Vinson/Richmond took home second in the 200 Yard IM in the 2:15.54.
The Tigers finished two through four in the 100 Yard Fly with Koch (:59.19), Covaney (:59.48) and sophomore Ben Hiter/Mineral (1:05.88). In the next event, H-SC once again finished two through four. Junior AJ Howard/Washington, N.C., sophomore Dane Warner/Norfolk, and freshman Ryan Foresman/Charlottesville finished in times of 0:55.07, 0:58.21 and 1:09.51, respectively.
In the 200 Yard Back, freshman Andrew Rehak/Radford and Warner went back to back finishing second and third. Parsons won his first event of the evening in the 500 Yard Free in a time of 5:10.32. Vinson and junior Eric Hope/Norfolk would finish third and fourth in the event, respectively.
The Tigers return to the pool on Saturday, November 16 when they visit Div. II Barton. The first event is scheduled for 1 p.m.
