Hampden-Sydney Golf B Team Competing In Greene Turtle Invitational

WINCHESTER, Va. -- Freshman Alex Rubino/Charlotte, N.C. posted a round of four-over par 75 to lead Hampden-Sydney College during the first day of competition in the Greene Turtle Invitational golf tournament on Sunday at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester.  The Tigers are competing with 10 individuals during the two-day event.

Rubino is tied for eighth individually among the 78 golfers at the par 71, 6,367-yard layout.  He is being followed by classmate Trevor Elliott/Richmond (77, t15th), junior Varun Yerramsetti/Birmingham, Ala. (78, t22nd), senior John David Gooden/Myrtle Beach, S.C. (79, t27th), sophomore Sam McNamara/Charlottesville (80, t34th), junior Dylan Taylor/Glen Allen (84, t53rd), sophomore Keith Marks/Midlothian (85, t59th), freshman Ryan Corbett/Richmond (89, 65th), sophomore Jimmy Hill/Mechanicsville (90, t66th) and freshman Bobby Wharton/Newport News (92, t71st).

H-SC will continue and complete its B Team competition in the two-day, 36-hole event on Monday.
