HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- The Hampden-Sydney College golf team is ranked 14th in both the latest Golfstat NCAA Division III Top 25 and the Bushnell Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, while sixth in the extremely strong South Region of both rankings. In addition, four Tigers are ranked highly among the Golfstat national individual rankings, including junior Bruce Shober/Appomattox, who is ranked 48th in Division III and 20th in the South Region with his 73.41 scoring average.
Other top H-SC golfers ranked nationally include freshman John Hatcher Ferguson/Rocky Mount (73.65), who is 49th in DIII and 23rd in the region; junior Adam Hade/Richmond (74.65), who is 107th in DIII and 46th in the region; as well as sophomore Allen Smith/Durham, N.C. (74.94), who is 137th in DIII and 51st in the region.
H-SC, coached by Director of Athletics Chad Eisele, has earned six Top 10 team finishes in seven tournaments this year. The Tigers are averaging 294.76 per round, 14th-best in Division III and sixth-best in the South Region.
H-SC will play again in the 54-hole Camp Lejeune Invitational on April 5-7 at the Paradise Point Golf Course in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
