Hampden-Sydney Basketball Welcomes Randolph-Macon For Non-Conference Game On Saturday Afternoon At 2 p.m.

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va.—Hampden-Sydney College will welcome nationally-ranked and archrival Randolph-Macon College for a non-conference basketball game on Saturday afternoon, November 23, at 2 p.m. in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. The Tigers are 1-3 overall, while the No. 24 Yellow Jackets are 5-0 overall, 1-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). It's free admission to all home basketball games, and the contest can be heard locally on WFLO Radio, 95.7 FM.

Tigers Playing Archrival in Non-Conference Game
H-SC is playing its archrival R-MC in a game that has been designated as a non-conference contest. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series between the two schools, 94-55, including four-straight wins over the past two seasons; though their series advantage as members of the ODAC since 1989-90 is 42-31. The Tigers are competing in their 110th season of basketball, while enjoying their 44th year (1976-present) as members of the ODAC.

The Tigers are 1-3 overall, 0-0 in the ODAC, and in their first season under the direction of head coach Caleb Kimbrough, who is new to the Hill after serving as the head coach at Huntingdon (Ala.) College since the 2016-17 season. Coach Kimbrough is assisted by Bryson Gibson, TJ Grimes, Daniel Eacho and Quinn Newton.

H-SC earned its first win of the season on the road at non-conference opponent Gallaudet, 62-52, on Wednesday (11/20) night in Washington, D.C. Through four games, the Tigers are being led by sophomore Jack Wyatt (19.3 points, 8.8 rebounds), junior Jake Hahn (13.5 points, 8.5 rebounds), senior Chaise Johnson (13.0 points, 7 3FGs), freshman Ryan Clements (10.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists) and senior Kevin Quinn (10.0 points, 7 3FGs).

Scouting #24 Randolph-Macon
The Yellow Jackets, nationally-ranked #24 in the d3hoops.com Preseason Top 25, are 5-0 overall, 1-0 in the ODAC, and coached by fifth-year head coach Josh Merkel. Coach Merkel is assisted by Dave Matturro, Bobby Brackett and Shawn Boggs.

R-MC earned its first ODAC win of the season on the road at Washington and Lee, 79-68, on Wednesday (11/20) night in Lexington. Through five games, the Yellow Jackets are being led by freshman Miles Mallory (12.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.2 blocks), junior All-American Buzz Anthony (11.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists) and junior Terry Woods (10.0 points, 3.4 assists). Senior Corey Bays (11) and sophomore Ian Robertson (10) lead R-MC in three-point field goals.

H-SC will be idle during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday week before returning to action with its ODAC opener on the road at Washington and Lee University on Sunday, December 1, at 1 p.m. in Lexington.
