Game Day Preview: #23 Hampden-Sydney vs. Guilford, Jan. 26

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-The #23 Tigers (16-2, 8-1 ODAC) return to the friendly confines of Fleet Gymnasium for a rematch against the Quakers of Guilford College (14-4, 6-3 ODAC). The Tigers currently stand in sole possession of second place in league play while Guilford is in a three-way tie with Randolph and Lynchburg in third place. Tip-off on Saturday afternoon is set for 2:00 pm.

These two teams met earlier in the season with Guilford taking a 68-54 decision in Ragan-Brown Field House on January 5. The last time Guilford came to Fleet Gymnasium was February 16, 2011: the Tigers claimed a 73-61 victory.

The Tigers are currently coming off of a huge 79-63 victory at Randolph which extended the team's win streak to five. The team was paced by double-double performances from Harrison George (Raleigh, NC/Leesville Road) and Khobi Williamson (Norfolk, VA/Maury) with the duo combining for 42 points and 22 rebounds.

Guilford had a nine game winning streak snapped with back-to-back losses to Washington & Lee (62-58) and Lynchburg (86-66).

Saturday's contest will feature two of the league's top scorers with George leading the Tigers at 15.4 points-per-game and Josh Pittman of Guilford pouring in 16.7 points-per-game. Both seniors are two-time First Team All-ODAC selections.
