HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Hampden-Sydney will look to clinch its second consecutive title and fifth in eight years as the Tigers host the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College in the 120th edition of the Oldest Small School Rivalry in the South, otherwise known as "The Game."
The Tigers own a 61-47-11 advantage in the series and have won ODAC Championships with wins in 2007, 2009, and 2013. Recently, however, the Yellow Jackets got the best of Hampden-Sydney with back-to-back wins in 2011 and 2012 - the last time these two met on Fulton Field.
The last time these two met, Hampden-Sydney won 28-26 on Day Field in a game where no team led by more than seven points at anytime.
As the Tigers stand at 5-1 in conference play, a win would put them on top of the ODAC. The conference is tight at the top, though, and a Tiger loss could provide a variety of scenarios, including a four-way tie at 5-2. Should Emory & Henry win with a Tiger loss, the Wasps will win the league for the first time since 2000. Still in the mix to muddy up the standings are Bridgewater and Guilford, who are both 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the ODAC.
