"Our 2014 schedule is very competitive," said Kinne. "Along with our always difficult conference schedule, we have added some tough out of conference teams. Our goal is to prepare ourselves to be playing our best baseball at the end of April."
The Tigers' schedule consists of 16 games against teams who have been to the NCAA Regionals in the past three years, and the team has no easy task of opening the season with back-to-back road games against USA South foes Averett (2/1) and Christopher Newport (2/6). The Tigers host Marymount in a double header on February 8 for their home opener.
23 of the team's 40 games will be in the friendly confines of Ty Cobb Ballpark with 14 of those games being played in seven Saturday double headers. The Tigers also will host Moravian, Keystone, and Wesley in the Floyd B. Wilcox Memorial Tournament from February 21-23.
