Tigers Lend a Helping Hand

FARMVILLE. VA-As part of the YMCA Healthy Kids Week, members of the Hampden-Sydney baseball and basketball teams lent a helping hand in the Prince Edward community by participating in the Walking School Bus. The program allows volunteers to walk Prince Edward Elementary School students from the school to the Farmville YMCA for their daily after school programs.

"I am happy our student-athletes could participate in the event," said head baseball coach Jeff Kinne. "It is great to be able to reach out to the local community and help these young students."

The Tiger basketball and baseball teams are both gearing up for their respective seasons. The Tigers will hit the hardwood on November 18 as they face LaGrange in the Huntingdon College Classic hosted by Huntingdon College. This spring, the Tigers will hit the diamond February 4 as they will host Ferrum College.
