Wrestling Competes at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, NC-The Hampden-Sydney wrestling team traveled to Greensboro College on December 17 to face both Greensboro and McDaniel. Due to injuries, the Tigers compete with six members.

Against McDaniel, freshman Brian Swenson (Virginia Beach, VA/Princess Anne) won 12-5 in the 133-pound weight class; freshman David Sniffen (Manassas, VA/Obsourn Park) won 8-4 in the 157-pound weight class; and Jordan Beck (Rome, GA/Darlington) won 8-3 in the 184-pound weight class.

Against Greensboro, freshman Conner Cronk (St. Augustine, FL/Bolles) won in the 165-pound weight class, while Sniffen and Beck also took wins. Freshman Caleb Corbett (Chesapeake, VA/Hickory) and senior Traylor Nichols (Powhatan, VA/Powhatan) both fell narrowly in the 149-pound and 174-pound weight classes, respectively.

Hampden-Sydney returns to action Sunday, January 22 as the Tigers compete in the Builder's Invitational at Newport News Apprentice.
