Hampden-Sydney Cross Country Runs at the Tribe Open
WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The Hampden-Sydney cross country team ran at the William & Mary Tribe Open on Saturday. Team scores were not kept at the event that featured mostly Division I teams such as William and Mary, Richmond, and Hampton.
Andrew Stoddard (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) and Andrew Craver (East Bend, NC/Forbush) were like clockwork yet again and led the team on the day. Stoddard placed 32nd with a time of 28:49, and Craver checked in at 35th in a time of 29:12. Tyler Wolfe (Powhatan, VA/Powhatan) crossed the finish line 30:33 to place 41st, and Yonathan Ararso (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia/Woodberry Forest) trekked the course in 30:52 to take 46th. Casey Grimes (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier), Colin Gordon (Douglassville, PA/Coventry Christian), Ned Belliveau (Lexington, VA/Rockbridge County), Sam Smith (Kitty Hawk, NC/First Flight), Dave Barrett (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy), and Jay Artis (Washington DC/The Nora School) all finished between 52-59 to close out the Tiger contingent.
The Tigers will participate in the 2010 ODAC Championship on Oct. 30 at 11:00 am and will look to improve on their ninth place finish from a year ago with the strong freshman class.
