Hampden-Sydney Tennis Drops 7-2 Decision to Virginia Wesleyan

NORFOLK, VA - Hampden-Sydney Tennis dropped their final regular season contest to Virginia Wesleyan by a score of 7-2. The Tigers finish the regular season with a 5-8 overall record and a 4-6 ODAC record. H-SC will finish tied for 7th in the ODAC standings and will earn the #8 seed in the ODAC Tournament due to head-to-head tiebreaker.

The team of Lawrence Bowers (New Bern, NC / Arendell Parrott Academy) and Tanner Fox (Lexington, VA / Parry McCluer) won 8-6 at #2 doubles while Houston Wilson (Norfolk, VA / Norfolk Collegiate) earned a 6-1, 6-4 #5 singles win. Zack King (Henrico, VA / Mills Godwin) lost his first set 6-4 and was trailing in the second set 6-5 before retiring from the #1 singles match. Fox dropped a tough match at the #6 singles flight, falling 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

Hampden-Sydney will travel to compete against #1 seeded Washington & Lee University on Saturday in the ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
