Hampden-Sydney improves to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the ODAC while Shenandoah drops to 2-7 and 0-6 in conference.
Shenandoah was able to sweep the #1 singles and doubles matches, but the Tigers took all the rest. Zach King (Henrico, VA/Mills Godwin) and Houghton Flanagan (Charlotte, NC/Myers Park) fell 8-3 at #1 doubles. David Dodson (Roanoke, VA/Cave Spring) and Lawrence Bowers (New Bern, NC/Arendell Parrott Academy) won a clean sheet at 8-0 at the #2 slot while Watt Mountcastle (Richmond, VA/Freeman) and Houston Wilson (Norfolk, VA/Norfolk Collegiate) won #3 in impressive fashion at 8-1.
Michael Milanov took down King at the #1 singles spot 6-1, 6-3. Dodson won his first set at #2 singles 7-5 but dropped the second 4-6 before rolling to a 10-4 third set win. Flanagan had two tight sets, losing the first 5-7 and winning the second 7-5, but he also rolled in the third set 10-2 to get the win at the #3 flight. Mountcastle won both sets 6-1 at #4, and Bowers took a 6-4, 6-2 decision at #5. Wilson closed out singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the #6 spot.
