HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (March 18, 2009)– After a tough two match losing streak, Hampden-Sydney bounced back to get a quality ODAC win over the Quakers of Guilford College. The tone of the match was set early by all three doubles teams taking convincing 8-2 wins. With the win, the Tigers improve to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in ODAC play.

The Tigers came out strong as the first two singles matches were never in question. Both William Moss (Fredericksburg, VA/Fredericksburg) and Rich Pugh (Augusta, GA/Lakeside) showed why they are two of the best in the league winning 6-1; 6-1 and 6-3; 6-0 respectively.

Hampden-Sydney also saw a shutout victory from Philip Parrish (Richmond, VA/Douglas Freeman)in the six spot.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, April 3 as they Methodist University at 3:30 pm.
