Hampden-Sydney Finishes Fifth With 274 Points At The 2019 ODAC Men's Swimming Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Sophomore Zach Stephan/Hampton and freshman Woody Parsons/Virginia Beach each established new school-records as Hampden-Sydney College finished fifth among 10 teams following the third and final day of the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Swimming Championships on Sunday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Stephan posted a record time of 48.23 to finish 10th in the 100 Yard Free for the Tigers, who finished with 274 points, while Parsons posted a record time of 16:34.18 to finish second in the 1650 Yard Free.  Washington and Lee University won the ODAC Championship with 913 points.

Senior Hudson Elmore/Richmond finished fourth in the championship final of the 200 Fly with a season-best time of 1:59.71.

Senior Jack Dickerson/Virginia Beach finished eighth in the championship final of the 200 Yard Breast with a season-best time of 2:21.20.

Sophomore AJ Howard/Washington, N.C. placed 11th in the consolation final of the 200 Fly with a season-best time of 2:08.56.

Sophomore Anthony Vinson/Richmond placed 12th in the consolation final of the 100 Free with a season-best time of 48.96.

Senior Brady Updike/Lynchburg placed 12th in the consolation final of the 200 Breast with a season-best time of 2:23.81.

Senior Adrian Cothren/Danville placed 14th in the consolation final of the 200 Fly with a season-best time of 2:23.43.

Senior Andrew Long/Powhatan placed 19th in the 1650 Free with a season-best time of 21:50.88.

The 400 Yard Free Relay of Howard, Stephan, Vinson and junior Brandon Koch/Spotsylvania finished fifth with a season-best time of 3:16.24.

H-SC has completed its 2018-19 campaign with the ODAC Men's Swimming Championships.  The Tigers, coached by eighth-year head coach Betsy Leonard, could return as many as 11 lettermen for 2019-20.
