Hampden-Sydney Moves Up To Fifth With 177 Points After Day Two At The 2019 ODAC Swimming Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Sophomore Zach Stephan/Hampton finished sixth in the 100 Yard Butterfly as Hampden-Sydney College moved up to fifth place among 10 teams after day two of the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Swimming Championships on Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Stephan swam a school-record time of 52.80 for the Tigers, who increased their point total to 177 on the second of three days.  Washington and Lee University remains in first place with 601 points.

Sophomore AJ Howard/Washington, N.C. placed ninth in the consolation final of the 100 Fly with a season-best time of 53.78.

Freshman Woody Parsons/Virginia Beach placed ninth in the consolation final of the 200 Yard Free with a school-record time of 1:45.97.

Senior Hudson Elmore/Richmond placed 11th in the consolation final of the 100 Fly with a season-best time of 54.66.  He was 12th in the consolation final of the 100 Yard Back with a season-best time of 57.00.

Sophomore Anthony Vinson/Richmond placed 11th in the consolation final of the 200 Free with a season-best time of 1:47.12.

Senior Jack Dickerson/Virginia Beach placed 11th in the consolation final of the 100 Yard Breast with a season-best time of 1:03.67.

Freshman Jason Covaney/Williamsburg placed 13th in the consolation final of the 100 Fly with a season-best time of 56.70.

Senior Adrian Cothren/Danville placed 14th in the consolation final of the 400 Yard IM with a season-best time of 4:54.92.

Junior Brandon Koch/Spotsylvania placed 15th in the consolation final of the 100 Fly with a season-best time of 57.32.

Sophomore Eric Hope/Norfolk placed 15th in the consolation final of the 200 Free with a season-best time of 1:55.57.

Senior Brady Updike/Lynchburg placed 16th in the consolation final of the 100 Breast with a season-best time of 1:05.70.

The H-SC 800 Yard Free Relay of Vinson, Elmore, Stephan and Parson finished fourth with a school-record time of 7:14.23.  The Tiger 200 Yard Medley Relay of Elmore, Dickerson, Howard and Koch was fifth with a season-best time of 1:42.89.

The ODAC Swimming Championships will continue and conclude on Sunday, February 17, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
