Swimming Places Third at ODAC Championship

Hampden-Sydney Swimming placed third at the ODAC Championship meet and broke nine school records in the process.

TIGERS TOP PERFORMANCES

  • Zach Stephan set three new individual school records and was part of four record-setting relay teams
  • Eric Hope was part of three relay teams that established new school records
  • AJ Howard was responsible for five records, one individual and four relay
  • The quarter of Stephan, Brandon Koch, Hope, and Howard posted a school-record time of 1:29.44 in the 200 yard freestyle relay to place fifth
  • Howard set a new high-water mark in the 50 yard freestyle at 22.35 to place 12th
  • Hudson Elmore, John Dickerson, Howard, and Stephan bested the school record in the 400 yard medley relay, clocking in at 3:42.56 for third place
  • Stephan, Dickerson, Howard, and Hope completed the 200 yard medley relay in 1:40.43 for third place and a new top mark in the school record books
  • Stephan set a new school record in the 100 yard butterfly prelims at 52.90 and finished fifth in 53.34 in the finals
  • Anthony Vinson established a new record in the 200 yard freestyle, checking in at 1:51.60
  • Stephan broke the record in the 100 yard backstroke, placing sixth at 54.91
  • Stephan made another new record in the 100 yard freestyle at 48.33
  • Howard, Vinson, Hope, and Stephan set a new best time in the 400 yard freestyle relay at 3:15.79 to place third.
  • Tate Socha came in eighth place in the 400 yard IM at 4:49.21
  • Howard and Elmore placed seventh and eighth respectively in the 100 yard butterfly with times of 54.21 and 55.41
  • John Dickerson placed sixth in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.12
  • Conor Roberson finished in seventh at the 1650 yard freestyle at 18:43.60
  • Vinson completed the 200 yard backstroke in 2:04.95 for seventh place while Socha came in eighth at 2:05.55
  • Dickerson completed the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:23.64 to place eighth
  • Elmore recorded a time of 1:59.78 to take seventh in the 200 yard butterfly
