Swimming Splits at Central Virginia Duals

Hampden-Sydney split with Roanoke College and Ferrum College at the Central Virginia Duals hosted by Liberty University. Roanoke narrowly edged the Tigers 162-150 but H-SC got the better of Ferrum 245-58.

TIGERS TOP PERFORMANCES

  • Hudson Elmore won three events on the day - the 500 yard free in 5:11.66, the 200 yard butterfly in 1:59.93, and the 1000 yard free in a school-record 10:49.40
  • Anthony Vinson took the top spot in the 200 yard backstroke, clocking in at 2:08.75
  • Zach Stephan was victorious in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.77. His time of 22.41 in the 50 yard free was just 0.04 short of the school record.
  • The 200 yard medley relay team of Austin Held, Brady Updike, Eric Hope, and Brandon Koch placed second in 1:47.83
  • AJ Howard finished runner up in the 200 yard freestyle (1:53.93), the 200 yard butterfly (2:08.08), and the 100 yard butterfly (53.93)
  • Stephan placed second in the 200 yard IM at 2:10.16
  • Updike posted a 1:07.88 time in the 100 yard breaststroke for second place, and also earned a second-place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:27.95
  • The foursome of Koch, Vinson, Robert Brown, and Stephan took silver in the 200 yard free relay at 1:32.89
  • Stephan, John Dickerson, Howard, and Hope placed second in the 400 yard medley relay at 3:50.53
  • Tate Socha was the runner up in the 400 yard IM as he completed the race in 5:04.01
  • Koch, Elmore, Howard, and Stephan finished the 400 yard free relay in 3:24.14 for second.
