Swimming Places 2nd at ODAC Championship, Leonard Named ODAC Coach of the Year

Hampden-Sydney Swimming placed second at the ODAC Championship meet and Head Coach Betsy Leonard was named the ODAC Coach of the Year, becoming just the second woman to be named ODAC Coach of the Year in a men's sport. Hudson Elmore earned First-Team All-ODAC honors while five other Tigers were named to the third team.

TIGERS TOP PERFORMANCES

  • Elmore secured the Tiger's top individual finish as he finished the 100 yard backstroke in 55.97 to place second
  • Elmore placed fourth in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:00.31
  • Elmore took seventh place in the 100 yard butterfly, completing the race in 54.10, while Conor O'Heir checked in at eighth in 55.76
  • Dalton Nash checked in at 1:02.74, good for seventh place in the 100 yard breaststroke while John Dickerson was eighth at 1:03.69
  • Nash placed eighth in the 100 yard freestyle at 48.47
  • Elmore, O'Heir, Carter Cole, and Ryan Mitchell recorded a second place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:37.73
  • Elmore, Dickerson, O'Heir, Mitchell, Nash, Cole, Brandon Koch, and Stewart Lawrence all contributed to a third-place finish in several relay races
