Hampden-Sydney Soccer rolled to a 4-1 win over Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • H-SC didn't need much time to register the first goal of the contest as Connor Shaw finished off a Jacob Mann pass just 2:17 into the match
  • H-SC had several scoring chances over the next 30+ minutes and was unable to finish
  • JP Reategui scored what would prove to be the eventual game-winner in the 38th minute off a Ryan Killen assist
  • Shenandoah cut the lead in half in the 59th minute as Brian Maye converted on an Andres Garces crossing pass
  • The Tigers answered the goal less than two minutes later as Hunter Weiland's corner kick found the foot of Ryan Turner who fired off a rocket from in close over the goalkeeper
  • Josh McCormack closed out the scoring in the 74th minute when he shot back in a Killen saved shot

COACH DINUZZO'S COMMENTS

  • "Good result today against a hard working Shenandoah team. It was important that we started well and got a goal early, and had we finished our chances, we might have been able to put the game away a little earlier. Regardless, it was a solid three points for us and now we set our sights on a tough game with Roanoke."
