Hampden-Sydney rolled past the Southern Virginia University Knights 5-1 on Wednesday night in non-conference action.

  • Six minutes later, SVU's Marrott Weekes was red carded for a foul in the 18-yard box, and Strong converted on the penalty kick attempt
  • In the 74th minute, Hamner helped turn an SVU turnover into H-SC's final goal of the night

  • "We started a little slow tonight, which is a credit to Southern Virginia. As the game went on, we stepped up and really settled in. Solid win overall, and now we can focus completely on ODAC play, which is the most important thing for us."
