94 Tigers Named Academic All-ODAC
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic Team eclipsed 1,000 student-athletes for the sixth consecutive year and set a new high-water mark for conference honorees for the third year in a row.

Junior defender Curran Blackwell (Wilson, NC/Greenfield) was recently tabbed to the All-South Atlantic Reion Third-Team. Blackwell was previously named First-Team All-ODAC.

Hampden-Sydney Soccer Head Coach Josh laux has named junior defender Curran Blackwell (Wilson, NC/Greenfield) a captain for the 2012 soccer team. He will be a captain along with fellow junior Nick DeProspero (Midlothian, VA/Cosby), who was also a captain for the 2011 season.

Bryan Wharton (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) posted two goals in the last 12 minutes of play to carry Hampden-Sydney Soccer to a 2-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over the visiting Wasps of Emory & Henry College. The two goals gives Wharton 100 career points, just the third Tiger in school history to score at least 100 points.
