Bryan Wharton, Nick DeProspero Named First-Team All-State

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - Bryan Wharton (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) and Nick DeProspero (Midlothian, VA/Cosby) were recently named First-Team All-State as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Wharton, a junior forward, was First-Team All-State in 2009 and First-Team All-ODAC in 2010 and 2009. He led the ODAC in goals and points in 2010 with 12 goals and 28 points. With 40 career goals, Wharton needs to score nine goals in 2011 to be the H-SC career goals leader.

DeProspero, a sophomore midfielder, was a Second-Team All-State honoree in 2009, First-Team All-ODAC in 2010, and Second-Team All-ODAC in 2009. He led the ODAC in assists with nine and was also second on the team in points with 15. Through just two seasons, DeProspero already ranks 10th in H-SC history with 19 career assists, needing 12 assists to be the career leader.

Both players will look to continue their excellent careers in 2011 as team captains while also helping earn the Tigers the team's first ODAC Championship.
