VMI found the try-zone first picking up five points at the 17 minute mark and another seven points 30 minutes into the game. VCU Downs Tigers 45-29 February 18, 2012 | VCU Downs Tigers 45-29 Tiger Rugby dropped to 1-1 on the season on Saturday afternoon in Virginia Rugby Union matrix play. Costly penalties and numerous turnovers hampered the Tigers. It took just five minutes for the Rams to put the first points on the board with a try in the corner. Possession traded hands numerous times due to a wet ball, muddy field, and numb hands. Neither team was able to mount a sustained attack, and there were multiple turnovers at the rucks and mauls. Rugby Earns Sportsmanship Award February 4, 2012 | Rugby Earns Sportsmanship Award The Hampden-Sydney College Rugby team was presented the 2011 Men's Collegiate Sportsmanship Award by the Virginia Rugby Union. The Rugby Tigers claimed the mantle of Sportsmen of the Year in a conference of 13 Virginia colleges. [read more]
