    The Tigers improved their record to 2-2 with a home win against the Wasps of Emory and Henry. The Tigers were coming off a hard loss on the road to Roanoke College, while the Wasps sought to secure their first road win of the season.

    Halfway through the fall 2017 season, the Tigers’ record stands at 1-2 following a loss at Roanoke College. Roanoke, coming off a forfeit loss to Duke University due to scheduling difficulties, was well rested and hungry for a win, while Hampden-Sydney was looking to keep up its winning ways after a close win over Christopher Newport University the week before.

  • Rugby Falls 39-28 to William and Mary

    The Hampden-Sydney Tigers began their fall 2017 CCRC schedule with a loss at William and Mary. The Tigers had previously only faced Longwood University in a thirty-minute scrimmage eleven days prior, resulting in a 15-15 tie, while the Tribe was coming off a more than hundred-point victory over Lynchburg College.  Knowing this, the Tigers expected a physical, demanding game and had prepared for that.  While holding a ten-point lead going into the second half, penalties and fatigue gave the Tribe enough footing to put together a second half comeback and take the win.
