Coach Tommy Kestermann is entering his fourth season on the Tiger staff for the 2018-18 school year.
In his first year on the staff in 2016, he coached one defensive player who earned USILA Honorable Mention All-American, USILA Scholar All-American, and VaSID All-State honors. Additionally, four defensive players earned First or Second-Team All-ODAC. The Tigers also tied the record for wins in a season with 13. The team defense ranked 59th in the country in scoring defense with an 8.68 goals against average.
Kestermann graduated from ODAC rival Lynchburg College in 2014 with a degree in Communications and was a four-year member on the Hornets' men's lacrosse team. A defensemen, he played in 62 career games and was a starter for most of his junior and senior seasons. He was honored with the 2014 Lynchburg Lacrosse Leadership Award and was named Second-Team All-ODAC in 2013 and 2014 while being tabbed Second-Team All-State in 2013. Kestermann had his career-best season as a junior, starting in 18 of 20 games while scooping 52 ground balls and forcing 24 turnovers. The Hornet defense posted a goals against average of 8.06 and 7.48 respectively in his final two seasons.
