HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College has earned the No. 3 seed for the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament, and will host a quarterfinal game against No. 6 seed Bridgewater College on Tuesday, April 30, at 4:30 p.m. at Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.

The Tigers of third-year head coach Jason Rostan '03 finished their regular season with an overall record of 12-5, including 7-3 in the ODAC, to claim the third seed for this week's conference tournament.  H-SC has won six of its last eight contests and nine of its last 12 overall.  The Tigers advanced to last year's semifinals before dropping a 14-8 decision at Washington and Lee University.  H-SC won the ODAC Title in 2017, while advancing to the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Bridgewater has a record of 13-4 overall, 6-4 in the ODAC.  The Eagles recently defeated the Tigers for the first-time ever by a score of 14-13 on April 17 in Bridgewater.  BC rallied from a 9-4 halftime deficit to H-SC, scoring the last five goals of the contest, including the game-winner with just 21-seconds remaining.

Nationally-ranked No. 17 Washington and Lee (13-4, 10-0) is the top seed for the ODAC Tournament and will receive a bye into the tournament semifinals on May 3.  Defending champion and No. 20 the University of Lynchburg (12-5, 9-1) is the No. 2 seed, and also earns a bye into the semifinals.

The other quarterfinal game on Tuesday matches No. 4 seed Randolph-Macon College (13-4, 7-3) against No. 8 seed Roanoke College (10-7, 6-4).

The ODAC Tournament semifinals and championship will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, at Washington and Lee in Lexington.  The semifinals will be played on Friday, May 3, while the ODAC Championship game is set for Saturday, May 4.  Times are yet to be determined for both days.  H-SC, however, would play in the second semifinal on Friday against No. 2 Lynchburg with a win past No. 6 Bridgewater.  The Tigers just dropped their regular-season finale at nationally-ranked Lynchburg 20-10 on April 27.
