#16 Generals Prevail 15-10 Over Lacrosse

The #16 Washington and Lee University Generals used a 5-0 run in the first quarter to pull ahead and held off a late Tiger rally to defeat Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse 15-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After W&L scored the opening goal, John Burke and Hunter Brown scored the next two to put H-SC ahead 2-1 at 9:45
  • Conlan O'Hara tied the game 30 seconds later and sparked a five-goal run for the Generals that pushed their lead out to 6-2 at 3:19
  • H-SC shaved one score off the deficit, 8-5, with 1:41 to play in the second quarter, but W&L's Jack Ware scored with only six seconds left to lead 9-5 at the end of the half
  • The Generals controlled the third quarter and built their lead up to 12-6 as they scored at the buzzer
  • Sam Dardani upped the advantage to seven at 10:31, but Hampden-Sydney scored three of the next four to trail 14-9 at 4:31, but the Tigers were unable to complete the comeback
