The #6 Cabrini University Cavaliers lacrosse team defeated Hampden-Sydney 20-8 at St. Stephens & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, VA.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The game was tied at 2-2 with five minutes left in the first quarter
  • Timmy Brooks scored the last two goals of the quarter and ended the period with a buzzer-beater while drawing a slashing penalty
  • Cabrini capitalized with their third straight goal off the man-up opportunity to go ahead 5-2, and they would go to score four more before Chandler Shaheen converted an EMO goal at 6:59 to make it 9-3
  • Jake Klein and Shaheen traded goals to end the half with the Cavaliers ahead 10-4
  • The Cavs went on to outscore the Tigers 10-4 in the second half as H-SC was never able to get within more than eight goals

FOR THE FOES

  • Jordan Krugg posted five goals and two assists
  • Ty Kostack and Timmy Brooks each notched a hat trick
  • Matt Loparo posted two goals and two assist
  • Riley White made 10 saves
  • Riley Michaels went 14-25 at the X with seven ground balls

  • The team stats were nearly even across the board, but 27 of Cabrini's 36 shots were on the goal while H-SC put just 19 of 36 on target
