#1 Salisbury Defeats Hampden-Sydney 25-12

Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse fell to #1 ranked Salisbury University 25-12 on Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament Third Round. The 12 goals were the most goals Salisbury has allowed all season, who ranks first in the country in scoring defense.



  • Hampden-Sydney struck first as Ian Levin forced a turnover and found Connor Pool for the opening goal
  • Salisbury took control of the game from there as they notched the next seven goals of the contest to take a 7-1 lead with 1:13 left in the first quarter
  • H-SC won the following face-off and Levin tallied a goal at 1:06, then Pool found the back of the net with 10 seconds to play to trim the Tiger deficit to 7-3
  • The Sea Gulls opened the second quarter with three consecutive goals before Hunter Brown scored on an outside shot to put the Tigers down 10-4 with 7:42 remaining in the half
  • Salisbury reeled off the next four goals to go into halftime ahead 14-4
  • The third quarter proved to be much of the same of the first half, but Brown set a new school record for season assists with 44 on a pass to Chandler Shaheen at 5:21
  • SU scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, but H-SC tallied four of the next five as Levin broke the school record for single season goals with 57
  • The Tigers shredded the Salisbury defense in the fourth quarter, tallying seven goals in the frame to score 12 for the game



  • Nathan Blondino scored seven goals and assisted on four more
  • Nick Garbarino tallied six goals and three assists
  • Brendan Bromwell found the back of the net five times with an assist
  • Carson Kalama added two goals and two assists
  • Duncan Campbell won 16 of 26 faceoffs


  • SU outshot H-SC 52-33 with a 35-19 advantage in shots on goal
  • The Sea Gulls had a 24-16 advantage in faceoff wins
  • Salisbury outgained Hampden-Sydney 53-30 in groundballs
