#20 Lynchburg Pulls Away From Lacrosse

The #20 Lynchburg College Lacrosse team pulled away from Hampden-Sydney in the fourth quarter to win 16-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • A high-scoring first quarter saw the Hornets leading 5-4 at the end
  • Lynchburg posted the last goal of the first quarter and proceeded to score the first four goals of the second quarter to go ahead 9-4 with 4:59 left in the half
  • Chandler Shaheen tallied the final goal of the half, and Duncan Morris opened the third quarter with the first two score to draw the Tigers within two at 9-7 at the 8:56 mark
  • Lynchburg tallied the next four scores to go out in front 13-7 with 11 minutes to play, but Hunter Brown found Morris on back-to-back goals to make it a 13-9 game at 9:14
  • Lynchburg would negate the Tiger comeback attempt with scores from Daniel Owens and Evan Lombardo just 13 seconds apart to push the lead back to six, 15-9, at 7:57
