THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Scoring came at a premium in the opening quarter with neither team getting on board until Levin converted a feed from John Burke at 5:01
  • Sewanee's Hayden Hurt scored the tying goal at 1:13, and Ben Griffin found the back of the net with only six seconds left to put the visiting Tigers up 2-1 after one frame
  • Duncan Morris quickly regained the lead for the home Tigers as he pocked back-to-back goals just eight seconds apart at 13:33 and 13:25
  • Tyler Calnan drew Sewanee even just under a minute later, but H-SC would go on to score four of the last five goals in the quarter to go into halftime leading 7-4
  • The third quarter belonged to Levin as all four goals scored in the stanza came courtesy of Levin's stick to provide Hampden-Sydney an 11-4 lead
  • Connor Pool pocketed the opening goal of the fourth quarter, this time off a feed from Levin, the sixth consecutive H-SC score he contributed to
  • Calnan notched an unassisted tally at 4:36 and Pat DiMento scored the last goal of the contest at 1:16
